Description:
Many web publishing tools are available to the UT Arlington community. Here is a brief description of commonly used systems:
- Student Web Space on STUDENTS.UTA.EDU: Web space on a Windows NT server.
- Individual Web Space on OMEGA.UTA.EDU: Web space on a Linux server.
- Official Web Space on www.uta.edu: Linux servers supporting PHP, CGI, PERL, and MySQL database technologies.
- Blog: A web log to allow an individual, class, or department to share ideas.
- Wiki: A collaborative web space for sharing information that can be easily edited by multiple users and you can revert back to previous versions of articles as needed.
How to Get:
- Student Web Space on STUDENTS.UTA.EDU: All students are allocated Web space on this server.
- Individual Web Space on OMEGA.UTA.EDU: Any client with an OMEGA account is allocated Web space on this server. Visit the OMEGA Account Request Form to get your OMEGA account.
- Official Web Space on a Windows or Linux Server: Faculty/staff can visit the Official Account Request Form to request a new or grant permissions to another employee for departmental, faculty, class, and student organization Web sites.
- Blog: All users with a NetID have a personal blog. Visit the Departmental Blog Request Form to request a blog for a department, class, or organization.
- Wiki: All users with a NetID have a personal Wiki. Visit the Departmental Wiki Request Form to request a blog for a department, class, or organization.
